(andPOP) - Paula Abdul showed her thick skin on Saturday Night Live this weekend, as she appeared in a sketch and advised a fake "Abdul" on how to attract contestants.

Former American Idol contestant Corey Clark alleged this week that he had an affair with Abdul while he was a contestant in 2003 during the show's second season. He also says she coached him, she helped him pick his clothes, and she advised him on song choices.

Clark made his allegations on the ABC news magazine show Primetime Live, during a "Fallen Idol" special Wednesday after American Idol aired. The broadcast was the most watched news magazine show of the year.

On Saturday Night Live, Abdul told Amy Poehler, who was dressed as Abdul, that ''You need to perfect the clap a little more and be a lot more sexier so contestants will be willing to sleep with you.''

Abdul also appeared later to introduce musical guests System of a Down, who are making headlines of their own by swearing during last night's live show.

Fox has said that they are looking into the allegations, though Clark said he is not willing to help.
