The show, which has been sold out for months, already has a high-wattage lineup of Destiny's Child, Ricky Martin, Toni Braxton, Marc Anthony, Sisqo and Christina Aguilera. If Jackson were to take the stage -- as the station's morning team teased -- it would be his first U.S. performance in five years. According to a spokesperson for the station, Jackson's appearance on the bill is hardly a fait accompli: "At this point it's just a rumor. Not a confirmed rumor . . . yet."
Were he to appear, the event would allow Jackson to begin the promotional machinery by showcasing some material from his next album, due March 27. The new album, which is produced by Rodney Jerkins, reportedly features collaborations with R. Kelly and Lenny Kravitz.
