Add the andPOP Facebook Application(andPOP) - The game becomes second nature when the Super Bowl halftime show gets underway Sunday. Last year's infamous nipplegate scandal, with Janet Jackson at the helm, won?t happen again this year, Paul McCartney said.
"They had the idea that I might not have a wardrobe malfunction," McCartney said at a press conference in Jacksonville, Florida, Thursday. "I can tell you I won't.
"I don't have a wardrobe to malfunction."
But McCartney is feeling the effects of Jackson's mistake last year. In case you don't remember, Justin Timberlake ripped part of her shirt off, exposing one of her breasts.
McCartney, the former Beatle, is a sign of wholesome values- an artist the whole family can enjoy. Yet, he's being closely monitored by NFL officials.
Officials investigated his lyrics, clothing, and even his moves. McCartney won't reveal what he has planned for Sunday, but officials did not ask him to change anything.
Before the game, the Black Eyes Peas will play with Earth, Wind and Fire. Other performances include Kelly Clarkson, Gretchen Wilson, and the Charlie Daniels Band. Alicia Keys will perform "America the Beautiful," as a tribute to Ray Charles.
After CBS was fined for last year's incident, Fox, this year's Super Bowl broadcaster, is making sure the artists know they are liable in case they get fined by the FCC.
And of course, there's a football game to be played. The New England Patriots are favoured to beat the Philadelphia Eagles.
Janet Jackson, interesting enough, was supposed to be at an event in Jacksonville Saturday but organizers said they announced her name prematurely, and she was never actually planning on attending.
Best she stays away from that whole peninsula region.
