Add the andPOP Facebook Application(andPOP) - Adam Gaynor has left Matchbox Twenty.
The guitarist confirmed the news that has been reported for a few weeks on his web site.
"As you may have read I will no longer be a member of the band. I know most of you were confused if not angered by this news," he wrote.
Gaynor was vague on the reason for his departure.
"It has been so personal, and while you are all part of the things that inspire me to do what I do, there are certain things in my life I find a bit difficult to explain.
Gaynor wrote that he is working on new material.
Meanwhile, Rom Thomas, the frontman of the band, will release a solo album in May, with an appearance from John Mayer. Kyle Cook, lead guitarist, has been touring with his side project, "The New Left."
