(andPOP) - Ryan Vikedal, drummer for the chart-topping Nickelback, is no longer in the band, his label announced today through a press release.

"The band wishes Ryan all the best in his future endeavors," the brief release read.

No replacement has been announced, but a rumour surfaced on the internet Wednesday night suggesting Daniel Adair, drummer for 3 Doors Down, had left that band and will become Nickelback's new drummer. 3 Doors Down toured with Nickelback last year.

Adair made a post on the official 3 Doors Down message board last night, only saying to "hang tight."

Lead singer Chad Kroeger and the rest of Nickelback are in Vancouver recording a new album and were unavailable to comment.

Vikedal joined Nickelback prior to their 1999 album, "The State."
