Add the andPOP Facebook Application(andPOP) - Keanu Reeves was smart enough to stay away from Speed 2. Sandra Bullock was not. The two actors will try to recreate the chemistry they created onscreen in the first Speed movie in 1994 when they team up again in "Il Mare."
Bullock and Reeves are slated to star in the romantic drama, a remake of a Korean film, Siworae.
Bullock is to play a doctor who exchanges love letters with Reeves' character, an architect. They then discover that they are separated in time by two years.
Production is set to begin in March in Chicago.
Speed, with a budget of just $28 million, grossed over $120 million in the U.S. and even more worldwide. Its critically-panned sequel grossed just over $40 in the U.S. despite having a budget 5 times that of Speed.
