Add the andPOP Facebook Application(andPOP) - Relax, the music award season is almost over, but one thing is clear: Usher cannot be stopped. The Prince of R&B won 11 Billboard Music Awards last night in Las Vegas.
Usher took home Artist of the Year and Album of the Year. When he went to accept the plethora of awards, he was joined by producer Jermaine Dupri and Lil Jon, who security almost prevented from walking onstage.
?It?s been about 10 years since we started, and we knew this would happen,? Usher said.
Alicia Keys, who recorded two songs with Usher this year, won seven, including Female Artist of the Year. Outkast followed with five and Kanye West had four.
50 Cent won the first Ringtone of the Year trophy for In Da Club.
The Billboard Award honour artists based on statistics: record sales, radio spins, and legal downloads.
Diana Ross, Mary J. Blige, and Destiny?s Child performed a tribute to Stevie Wonder, who was awarded the Century Award for Creative Achievement.
Destiny?s Child were awarded the Artist Achievement Award, and were teary while accepting the award.
Ryan Seacrest hosted the show. Green Day, Usher, and Keys were among the night?s performers.
