Add the andPOP Facebook Application(andPOP) - A fake story about R. Kelly making sexual advances to Ashanti's underage sister was passed around the internet last week. The story appeared to be from the Associated Press, but Ashanti and the alleged writer both said they had nothing to do with it. Someone forgot to tell the Miami Herald.
The paper published a story on the weekend, attributing the Associated Press story.
The story also alleged that the family of Ashanti issued R. Kelly a summons and that charges were pending. Anything to do with R. Kelly and Ashanti or her family is false.
The Herald published a short story Wednesday, saying the story was a hoax, according to the real AP.
