(andPOP) - It seems as if the 80s will never die. Its television counterparts, "The Dukes of Hazard" and "Miami Vices," will be released in 2005.

"The Dukes of Hazard" will star Johnny Knoxville and Sean William Scott as Luke and Bo Duke, Jessica Simpson as Daisy Duke, and Burt Reynolds as Boss Hogg. This will mark the first time Simpson will be involved in a feature role of this magnitude on screen. The film also enticed Broken Lizard member Jay Chandrasekhar ("Super Troopers", "Club Dread") to be attached as director.

"Miami Vice," yet another 80ss cultural product of cops and robbers, will star Colin Farrell as Crockett and Jamie Foxx as Tubbs. This will be a certain turn-around for the future hopeful Academy Award nominee Foxx, who as of late has taken on much more challenging and dramatic roles. That is not to downplay the work of Farrell, whose role in the upcoming dramatic epic "Alexander" will be sure to grab some attention and praise from audiences. This film reunites director Michael Mann with Foxx for the third time, the other two being "Collateral" and "Ali."

Both films are set to debut in the summer of 2005 however both dates are tentative at this point.
