That guy who sang on Alicia Key's "You Don't Know My Name," Dilated Peoples' This "Way," Jay-Z's "Encore," and Slum Village's "Selfish"...
That man is John Legend.
He's also worked with Janet Jackson, Lauryn Hill, Mary J. Blige, Britney Spears, Eve, Black Eyed Peas, and the list goes on.
And soon, you'll know John Legend not for who he has worked with, but for his own musical work.
Legend (real name John Stephens) is set to release his major label debut album, "Get Lifted," in December. Kanye West produced much of the album and also signed Legend to his production company.
Legend spoke with andPOP on a recent trip to Toronto, where he was playing on the Usher tour with West, and a solo concert. Watch the interview to hear him speak about West, working with Lauryn Hill, getting the name 'Legend,' his album, and much more. Plus, watch him sing a bit of some old favourites and some new.
