(andPOP) - The MTV Video Music Awards will have a new look this year. Not only will the show be held in Miami for the first time, but the artists will arrive on boats, as well as some in limousines.

The announcement was made in Miami this morning, as Jay-Z was announced as the leading nominee with six nominations for his video, 99 Problems.

No Doubt, Usher, Outkast, and Jay-Z's girlfriend Beyonce Knowles have five each.

"We saw it as an opportunity to reinvent the show," said MTV president Van Toffler. They considered moving the show back to Los Angeles when it was discovered that New York would be busy with the Republican National Convention, but they decided to switch things up and go to Florida for the first time.

Usher, Kanye West, Jessica Simpson, Hoobastank, Yellowcard and Jet will perform.

There will be no host for the event.

The VMAs will be handed out August 29.
