The single, titled As Is, will be the lead song from the forthcoming cheerleaders movie, Bring It On, which features the female trio, Brandi Williams, Shamari Fears and Natina Reed alongside actress Kirsten Dunst.
The girls, who used to be called Blaque Ivory, are signed to Left Eye Productions, the label owned by TLC's Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes and it's not the first time they've teamed up with the 'N Sync guys. All five members of the award-winning boy band appeared in Blaque's video for a previous release, Bring It All To Me.
'These guys are like our big brothers,' Brandi explains. 'They haven't been in the business a whole lot longer than us, but they've taught us a lot.'
It's a surprise move for 'N Sync. Insiders had predicted that fellow band mate Justin Timberlake, heartthrob and on-off boyfriend of Britney Spears, would be the first to cut a solo record.
Blaque, who hail from Detroit in America, have also teamed up with R Kelly in the past when he wrote and produced their first single 808 and Brandi adds that he instilled a strong working ethic in the band. 'He really taught us that we need to always remember that this is a business. There's time for games and time for work and when you're with him you'd better work.'
The girls have just completed a 13-date tour on the Nickelodeon All That Music & More festival with B*Witched and LFO.
