(andPOP) - Almost three years and two albums later, O-Town have split.

The five members, who were formed on "Making the Band," announced this week that they are not continuing on as a group, in a message on insideotown.com.

"We wanted you to know that our decision not to continue forward as O-Town was mutual and we all still remain best friends," the message said.

Ashley is currently working on his solo album. Trevor is studying acting and auditioning for television and film projects. After serving as a volunteer firefighter in California during the fires, Jacob "continues his study of the Bible to regain focus and direction." Dan is writing and producing music from his home studio in Orlando. Erik-Michael has been approached about a solo album.
