Vanessa Olivarez, the spunky finalist from the second season of American Idol, has a hit single, and it's not even in the U.S.
Her two song single, "The One / I'm In Love With My Best Friends Ex" debuts at number 10 on Canada's retail chart this week.
What makes this even more impressive is that it was exclusively available at HMV stores, and was released independently through Outta The Box Records.
She co-owns OTB Records with her Canadian songwriting partners James Collins and Dave Pickell. The duo has written hits for VIP, Gavin Hope, Amy Sky, The Nylons, Carol Medina and many others.
The song is being played on 70 stations across Canada. It is also available at amazon.ca.
