Rock legends U2 lead all artists with eight Grammy nominations, it was announced Friday in Beverly Hills, California. India.Arie surprised many by receiving seven nominations, while Alicia Keys, who many believed would rack up the most nominations, received six.
Conductor Pierre Boulez also earned six nominations. Alison Krauss, Brian McKnight and Outkast nabbed five each, and T-Bone Burnett, Nelly Furtado, Train, Steven Tyler and Lucinda Williams each earned four.
The Grammys will be held on February 27, 2002 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
