Those are the inspired rhymes from the United Nation's Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. That's right. The U.N. has gone Hip Hop.
However, only in honor of Hip Hop artist Jay-Z, who was awarded for his philanthropy by the United Nations at a gala yesterday in New York City, with a special humanitarian award for his Water For Life campaign.
The campaign, which raises awareness for the world water crisis, included a 2006 World Tour and an MTV Documentary- consisting of Hova bringing more awareness of the water epidemic in Africa while also building 1,000 water pumps in African communities.
“If you bring awareness to young people, they’re going to see and want to be involved,” Jay-Z said back in 2006. “I’m not a politician; I’m just a regular person with a heart. If you see a problem like that and do nothing about it, there’s something wrong with you.”
