(andPOP) - On September 30, LaCie announced the availability of its new 700 series of LCD monitors. The monitors are designed for creative professionals who need the closest match between captures, displayed and printed colours of images and documents. The 700 series LCD monitors come in 20-inch, 24-inch and 30-inch sizes.

The 700 series of monitors feature the innovative RGB-LED backlight, which produces purer red, green and blue primaries that provide a large range of colours not previously attainable with LCD displays, according to a press release from the company. All of the 700 series monitors come bundled with LaCie’s blue eye pro Proof Edition calibration software package. The program allows users to calibrate and profile displays, retain profile accuracy and maintain display uniformity, according to the press release.

LaCie’s press release also said the monitors also feature ColorKeeper, which is an advanced backlight stabilizer technology that analyzes brightness and chromaticity of the backlight, and then adjusts it. All of the monitors have a USB 2.0 hub to connect to additional hardware such as a colorimeter or USB hard disk.

The LaCie 720, 724, and 730 monitors are available at the LaCie Online Store, LaCie Reseller+ or LaCie Color Partner for $1599, $2299, and $4599 respectively.
