(andPOP) - Jay-Z, Bruce Springsteen and Billy Joel are rallying their fellow countrymen behind Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama with upcoming shows around the U.S.

Jay-Z will play two free concerts this weekend, one at Detroit's Cobo Arena on Saturday and the other at Miami's Bayfront Park on Sunday, aimed at getting fans to vote.

Anyone who registers to vote at the local Obama campaign office will receive a free ticket.

Both Detroit and Miami are in key battleground states with Oct. 6 registration deadlines.

Meanwhile, Springsteen and Joel have announced they will play a fundraiser for Obama at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom on Oct. 16.

The show, for which tickets range from $500 to 10,000, marks the first time the two icons have ever played at the same concert.

Other guests are expected to be announced shortly.

Springsteen endorsed Obama on his website in April, saying the Illinois senator has "the depth, the reflectiveness and the resilience" to be the next U.S. President.

"He speaks to the America I’ve envisioned in my music for the past 35 years," he wrote.
