Add the andPOP Facebook Application(andPOP) - Music Producer Jermaine Dupri, a close friend of Travis Barker, the former Blink-182 drummer who was severely injured in the fatal Barker/AM plane crash has released an update of Barker’s condition in the hospital.
"He's doing good. He's gonna be alright. He's just got a lot of healing to do," Dupri told People.com. Dupri says that Barker is expected to remain in the hospital for another two more weeks.
At least he’ll be comfortable.
Dupri said that the drummer’s hospital room has been decked out and outfitted with iPods, computers and some other fun toys, in order to keep him in a positive mood and ensure that he heals in a friendly environment. “You got to make sure he’s in a happy setting” he said.
Dupri said he was in total shock when he heard of Barker’s accident. "I was at home. Somebody called me early in the morning," he said. "It was kind of crazy, and I didn't really comprehend what had happened."
Barker, whose torso and lower part of his body were burned in the crash, is doing well emotionally, according to Dupri. "He's supposed to send a message out to everybody in a couple of days to let everybody know that he's feeling better," he said. "He's definitely feeling the love from everyone."
