(andPOP) - Comic mastermind Jeff Dunham has been setting records with his DVD sales and live appearance tours as well as winning sterling media raves for many compelling reasons, but prime among them is one central factor: The humor he and his suitcase posse of comedic characters deliver hits dead center at how we all live our lives, think and feel in this complex and sometimes absurd modern world, so well, in fact, that his comedy never fails to evoke knowing laughs over and over again. It’s incisive humor with heart, which of course makes Christmas - the biggest holiday of the year - a perfect subject for his sidesplitting insight and observations and considerable skills as a humorist.
And now the award-winning comedian who has sold an astounding two million DVDs (and counting) of his top-rated Comedy Central specials, “Spark Of Insanity” and “Arguing With Myself,” will bring his special brand of “ha-ha-ha” to the “ho-ho-ho” of the 2008 Christmas season. On June 7, Dunham taped his first ever Christmas special in Milwaukee, where his devoted fans braved tornado warnings, gale-force winds and torrential rains to pack the theater and summon up the year-end holiday spirit at the dawn of summer.
As the Dunham phenomenon has spread to Canada with his appearance at July's Just For Laughs Festival in Toronto, the man hailed as “easily one of the funniest stand-up comics alive” (Dallas Morning News) will also have his Christmas special broadcast in November in Canada and concurrently release it on DVD at the same time, respectively as it debuts on Comedy Central and hits retail racks and online stores in the U.S.
andPOP caught up with Jeff and a special guest recently for one hilarious interview.
