Morgan Freeman is the latest star of the blockbuster Batman film to hit a serious speed bump in his life. He was involved in a car accident in Mississippi on Monday which flipped his car several times, leaving him trapped.
The Jaws of Life were used to free him. Freeman was said to be lucid while he was being extracted from the wreck. "He was talking, joking with some of the rescue workers at one point," said Clay McFerrin, editor of the Sun Sentinel in Charleston.
The actor broke both his arm and elbow, and damaged his shoulder.
Freeman's co-star Heath Ledger died shortly after the film was completed, and Christian Bale was recently investigated for a violent altercation with his own mother and sister.
