(andPOP) - Christina Applegate has been diagnosed with an early form of breast cancer, reports E! News.

“Benefitting from early detection through a doctor-ordered MRI, the cancer is not life threatening,” said the actress’ publicist Ame Van Iden. “Christina is following the recommended treatment of her doctors and will have a full recovery.

“No further statement will be issued at this time.” The 36-year-old Emmy nominated star for her role in “Samantha Who?” is best known for playing Kelly Bundy on the long-running sitcom “Married…With Children.”

Applegate, alongside Meryl Streep, Sally Field, Jennifer Aniston, Scarlett Johansson, and Charlize Theron will participate in the September 8 telethon “Stand Up to Cancer,” which will be broadcast simultaneously on CBS, NBC and ABC.
