(andPOP) - Life isn't very sweet right now for Sugar Ray front man Mark McGrath.

People magazine reports that McGrath has just been booted from his hosting duties for "Extra," in favour of Mario Lopez.

"Mario ... has established himself as a highly engaging, likeable and sought-after host and personality," read the statement from Telepictures Productions.

McGrath will apparently resume working on his music career.
