(andPOP) - Slim Shady fans may not have to wait much longer for a new album.

According to MTV.com, Eminem is in the studio working on a new album.

Dr. Dre’s latest artist, Bishop Lamont said on a blog, “He went through what he had to go through, and now he’s been able to take all the pain and stress and put it out in his music.”

Eminem’s label, Universal Music, also confirmed Lamont’s claims that he is in the studio.

Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers has been out of the media spotlight since the shooting death of his long time friend and fellow artist Proof back in 2006.

No release date has been set for the project.
