Add the andPOP Facebook Application(andPOP) - 'The Colbert Report' has booked Canadian rock icons Rush for their first performance on U.S. television in over 30 years.
Geddy Lee and co. will perform their classic "Tom Sawyer" on the satirical talk show Wednesday.
The band, which formed in Toronto in 1968, is currently touring North American in support of its 18th studio album "Snakes and Arrows."
The trio -- made up of singer Lee, guitarist Alex Lifeson and drummer Neil Peart -- hasn't played on U.S. TV since 1975.
They aren't the only musical act to be 'Colbert'-bound this month. The Comedy Central show, which has recently featured more frequent musical performances, will welcome rapper Nas on July 23, Toby Keith on July 28 and Crosby, Stills and Nash on July 30.
Among the show's past musical guests are John Legend (with whom Colbert sung "The Star Spangled Banner" in two-part harmony), Neil Young, R.E.M., The Roots and Carole King.
