(andPOP) - Joseph Fiennes' dabble into television is over before it began.

Fiennes was the lead in "Nip/Tuck" creator Ryan Murphy's new show, "Pretty/Handsome." He played a family man who decided to get a sex change.

Though the show also co-starred Blythe Danner and was being co-produced by Brad Pitt, the pilot, which was developed for FX, failed to impress, says the Hollywood Reporter. FX passed on it in March, and though it was shopped around to other outlets, it was unsuccessful.

Another co-star of the show, Christopher Egan, has already been cast in a new NBC show, "Kings."
