(andPOP) - “Hellboy II: The Golden Army” brought in $35.9 million in its opening weekend, according to Exhibitor Relations estimates today, reports E! News.

Although “Hancock” did not receive many positive reviews, the Will Smith movie continued to appeal to moviegoers by bringing in another $33 million.

Brendan Fraser’s “Journey to the Center of the Earth” came in third with $20.6 million while Eddie Murphy’s “Meet Dave” opened with a disappointing 7th place – bringing in a total of only $5.3 million in the movie’s debut weekend.

Rounding out the top five is PIXAR’s Wall-E and Angelina Jolie’s flick “Wanted.”
