(andPOP) - Sir Paul McCartney has enlisted The Stills to help him celebrate Quebec City's milestone birthday.

The Montreal band will open for the ex-Beatle's June 20th show, part of a litany of events occurring in the capital city in honour of its 400th anniversary.

The free show, which is McCartney's only scheduled North American date this summer, will take place on the Plains of Abraham and is expected to attract over 100,000 fans.

The Stills expressed their excitement over the supporting gig. "We are completely honored, blown totally 100 per cent away," guitarist/vocalist Tim Fletcher said on the Arts & Crafts website.

"(McCartney's) influence on our own music is incalculable and profound and his songs have been stuck in our heads since we were just tiny little beings developing in our mothers' wombs. It will be a beautiful night to remember for all times."

The Stills, who formed in 2000, are gearing up for the release of their third full-length album "Oceans Will Rise" on August 19.

Following the show in Quebec, the band is slated to play a handful of other dates in Canada and the U.S.:

- July 22 - Calgary, Alberta (Snatch Rock & Roll Lounge)
- July 23 - Edmonton, Alberta (Ed Fest)
- Sept. 18 - Brooklyn, New York (Music Hall of Williamsburg)
- Sept. 20 - New York, New York (Bowery Ballroom)
