(andPOP) - Two pop powerhouses are joining forces to take on North America this summer.

Jordin Sparks and Jesse McCartney will hit the road in August for a 16-date tour dubbed "Jesse & Jordin Live."

The singers kick off their trek August 5 in Sacramento, CA and wrap up August 30 in Greensboro, NC.

There is one Canadian stop on the schedule so far, August 27 at Toronto's Sound Academy.

McCartney, 21, had high praise for his tourmate and last year's American Idol champ.

"Jordin has the most incredible voice," he said in a statement. "She's one of those pure talents you don't see a lot of in this business. I can't wait to get out there with her."

Sparks, 18, had similar praise for McCartney, who recently found additional success as co-writer of Leona Lewis' hit single "Bleedin' Love."

"I am really excited to be going out and sharing the stage with someone as talented as Jesse McCartney," she said. "He brings a soulful voice, heart of gold and his good looks to the stage every night, and I can't wait to share it with him."

McCartney is also scheduled to appear on "Jay Leno" July 25, where he will perform "Leavin'" off his latest album "Departure."
