Add the andPOP Facebook Application(andPOP) - "Madden NFL 09" will offer more than football action when it hits stores Aug. 12 -- the EA Sports video game will also reveal new tracks from some big acts.
The in-game soundtrack features Franz Ferdinand's "Lucid Dreams," which will be included in the Scottish band's upcoming as-yet-untitled album, due in February.
Gamers will also get an advance listen to Gym Class Heroes' "I'm Home," which will appear in the New York foursome's newest album "The Quilt," due Sept. 9.
In total, the 'Madden NFL 09' soundtrack consists of 26 songs covering rap, pop-punk and rock. Canadian reggae rapper Kardinal Offishall contributes "Burnt" featuring Lindo P., while Busta Rhymes and Linkin Park appear with their collaboration "We Made It."
Other artists featured in the video game include The All-American Rejects, Disturbed, From First To Last, The Offspring, Senses Fail and Shinedown.
The popular "Madden NFL" series debuted in 1989 and is marking 20 years with this newest release.
To promote the game, EA has announced that a different "Madden NFL 09" soundtrack artist will perform on a late night show each night beginning the week of August 4.
