(andPOP) - Elvis Costello's new variety show will pack an extra wallop of star-power in the form of its just-announced lineup of guests.

Bill Clinton, Sir Elton John, Lou Reed and Tony Bennett are among those will appear alongside the veteran musician-turned-TV host in the first season of "Spectacle: Elvis Costello With ...," according to CTV.

The talk-and-music show, a Canadian and British co-production, promises to showcase in-depth interviews with influential artists and personalities, as well as original musical performances.

Four one-hour episodes of the 13-part series have already been taped.

Costello and John are said to perform together in one episode, while Clinton, a known saxophone player, will discuss the influence of music on his career.

"I'm hoping that future shows continue to embody the great joy, passion and celebration of music we've had thus far, mixed with rare poignant and powerful moments," Costello said in a statement.

"It's early to say too much about 'Spectacle' other than it has been a wonderful and surprising experience."

The show will air later this year on CTV in Canada, Channel 4 in Britain and the Sundance Channel in the United States.
