(andPOP) - Yet another comic book series is getting the movie treatment.

Warner Bros. has picked up the rights to "Hiding In Time," an Image Shadowline miniseries created by Christopher Long and illustrated by Ryan Winn.

The comic, which debuted last year, is set in the not-too-distant future and presents a revamped Witness Protection Program, one which uses time travel to relocate high-profile witnesses into the past.

When the program is compromised, government scientist Nathan Crew must jump back through time -- experiencing some of the greatest moments in history -- to save the witnesses from hired assassins.

Beau Thorne, who penned the upcoming big-screen adaptation of the video game "Max Payne," will write the script, while Dan Lin will produce.

News of the "Hiding In Time" adaptation comes as the James McAvoy-starring "Wanted," loosely based on Mark Millar's comic book miniseries, grossed over $50 million at the North American box office during its opening weekend.
