Goldblum ("The Fly," "Jurassic Park") will join the crime drama, which looks at cases from both the criminals' and the police's perspective, in its upcoming eighth season.
The show also stars Vincent D'Onofrio and Kathryn Erbe.
"Jeff's presence will add a new dimension to an already successful show," series creator Dick Wolf said in a statement.
Noth is leaving "L&O: CI" after three seasons as Det. Mike Logan, a role he first played in the original "Law & Order" series from 1990 to 1995.
The actor told the New York Post that his departure was mutual, saying, "I've been in the 'Law & Order' franchise a long time. … I've pretty much squeezed all the juice out of that role."
Besides resurrecting Logan for a 1998 "L&O" TV movie, Noth is also known for playing Mr. Big in the "Sex and the City" TV series and recent big-screen adaptation.
Goldblum is best known as a film actor but starred in NBC's short-lived "Raines" in 2007 as an L.A. detective. He recently appeared opposite Kevin Spacey in the London production of David Mamet's "Speed-the-Plow" and will next hit the big screen in the upcoming war drama "Adam Resurrected."
