Add the andPOP Facebook Application(andPOP) - 2K Sports announced on June 12 that it will be releasing the next installment of their popular hockey video game, NHL 2K9, to Nintendo’s Wii console this fall. NHL 2K9 is the only officially licensed NHL game for the Wii, and will allow gamers to use the Wii remote as a hockey stick to control the puck and maneuver through the game.
“This title has been highly anticipated by our Wii consumers who will now be able to use the Wii Remote to face-off, play hockey, and fire a slap shot in their living rooms,” said Steve Singer, VP of Licensing at Nintendo of America Inc, in a press release from the company.
NHL 2K9 will also be available on the Xbox 360, Playstation 2 and Playstation 3 when the game is released in the fall.
