Add the andPOP Facebook Application(andPOP) - The Evolve Festival is returning to Antigonish, N.S., and it's aiming to be greener than ever.
Organizers of the music and cultural festival, which will feature such acts as !!!, Battles and Two Hours Traffic from July 25 to 27, hope to make this year's event completely waste-free.
To help reach that goal, 35 colour-coded recycling stations will be scattered throughout the festival grounds.
An "Awareness Village" will also offer workshops that include everything from teaching people how to make a solar heater out of everyday household items to hulahoop dance instruction.
As well, organizers have promised to plant one tree for every ticket purchased.
Now in its eighth year, the Evolve festival is an annual event dedicated to promoting sustainable living and environmental awareness.
Past performers include k-os, The Trews, Wintersleep and Rheostatics, while last year's installment featured an appereance by Green Party of Canada leader Elizabeth May.
