(andPOP) - Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are finally getting married.

The 50-year-old comedian made the surprise announcement during last night's taping of her talk show, and was received with a standing ovation. De Rossi, 35, watched from the sidelines.

The announcement was made just hours after the California Supreme Court's ruling to strike down the state's ban on gay marriage.

DeGeneres and her Arrested Development lover have been together for four years.
