Dennis Farina arrested for carrying unregistered handgun

(andPOP) - Veteran actor Dennis Farina, 64, is currently being held in jail on $35,000 bail in Van Nuys. Police found an unregistered .22 calibre semiautomatic gun in the actor’s briefcase at the Los Angeles International Airport on Sunday.

Authorities say the former “Law and Order” star was “very apologetic and cooperative” and told them he had simply forgotten about the weapon but was still taken into custody.

Farina can be now seen in the comedy “What Happens in Vegas” with Ashton Kutcher and Cameron Diaz. “What Happens in Vegas” came in third spot at the box office this weekend, earning just $20 million.
