Add the andPOP Facebook Application(andPOP) - Coldplay will hit at least eight Canadians cities when they take to the road in support of "Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends."
The band has announced the first leg of their North American tour, and it includes stops in Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg, Montreal, Ottawa and two Toronto dates.
Tickets go on sale June 13 for the Edmonton show and a day later for the other Canadian stops.
As previously announced, the British foursome will also play B.C.'s Pemberton Festival, which takes place July 25 to 27 and features other big names including The Tragically Hip, Jay-Z and Nine Inch Nails.
Coldplay released "Violet Hill," the first single off their upcoming fourth studio album, as a free download on the band's website on April 29. The track racked up more than 600,000 downloads on the first day, according to Billboard magazine.
Here are the Canadian dates and venues for Coldplay's upcoming tour:
• July 27 - Pemberton, BC @ Pemberton Festival
• July 29 - Edmonton, AB @ Rexall Place
• July 30 - Calgary, AB @ Pengrowth Saddledome
• Aug. 1 - Winnipeg, MB @ MTS Centre
• Oct. 20 - Montreal, QC @ Bell Centre
• Oct. 21 - Ottawa, ON @ Scotiabank Place
• Oct. 29-30 - Toronto, ON @ Air Canada Centre
