Add the andPOP Facebook Application(andPOP) - Corner Gas will pump out its last laughs in spring 2009.
Show star and creator Brent Butt announced the CTV comedy will come to end after its sixth season, which is currently in production.
The decision to end the show was Butt's--not CTV's.
"It's a very difficult decision, but the right decision, and one I felt I had to make," said Butt.
"When I told CTV about my decision, they made it clear they were keen to do more seasons. But for the good of the show, I wanted to exit gracefully, on top of our game, when we're at our prime--because that's how I want viewers to remember Corner Gas: at its very best."
The show has won six Gemini Awards, including best comedy series.
Corner Gas is shot in Saskatchewan and aired its first episode in 2004.
