Add the andPOP Facebook Application(andPOP) - After hours of hopeful speculation and multiple erroneous reports, it has been confirmed that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie did not get married in New Orleans Saturday.
Star magazine, not exactly a reliable source, reported the false story after photo agency X17 broke the news. Star provided the smoke and naturally, gossip blogs and tabloids everywhere added speculated fuel to the fire.
Star reported that the highly anticipated Pitt-Jolie union took place at the French Quarter Wedding Chapel. At first, the only comments on the issue came from Pitt's rep, Cindy Guagenti, who vaguely addressed the rumors.
"I have no idea," she told E! News. "I have nothing to do with any of this."
The statement was enough to keep tongues wagging until the owner of the chapel in question dispelled any wedding talk.
"No, they did not come in here yesterday and no, they did not get married here," chapel co-owner Lou Ann Talavera told E! News, according to E! Online.
The rumours would turn out to be even more incredulous after sources close to the couple said Brad and Angelina are currently in Texas with their four kids while Pitt films an upcoming project.
And it seems like the world will have to keep waiting for a Brangelina wedding.
Pitt has gone on record saying that the do-gooder duo won’t get married until gay marriage is legalized in all U.S states.
"Angie and I will consider tying the knot when everyone else in the country who wants to be married is legally able," he said to Esquire magazine.
