Add the andPOP Facebook Application(andPOP) - Jamal Woolard, a rapper also known as Gravy, will portray rapper Notorious B.I.G. who was gunned down in the 1990s, ew.com reports.
Woolard got the role after a nationwide search, which began in August of last year, was done to cast the part.
The film will also star Angela Bassett, as Biggie's mom; Anthony Mackie, who's been cast as Tupac Shakur; and Derek Luke as Sean Combs.
The film is being done by Fox Searchlight films, and will begin shooting later this month in New York City.
