Add the andPOP Facebook Application(andPOP) - Avril Lavigne won't be audition dancers for her upcoming tour today, after the Dancers' Alliance called for a boycott.
An email that was sent to dancers scheduled to audition revealed that Lavigne was planning to pay her dancers below industry standards.
"The tour's weekly rate is $1,250.00 inclusive of agency fee…after agency commission that would be $1,125.00 to you before taxes," the email outlined, as posted on PerezHilton.com. "Management has offered no additional perdiem and no plus agency fee, which is standard in our industry."
Via MySpace blog, the Dancers' Alliance urged its members to show up to the audition - "not to participate, but to stand outside of the door encouraging any dancer who shows up NOT TO STEP INTO THE AUDITION."
At 10:30 last night, Lavigne "opened up a new conversation with the agencies."
