(andPOP) - There have been countless attempts by manufacturers to create the ultimate iPod sound system. Every generation of iPod means an entirely new generation of audio docks to accompany it. Some look good, some don’t. Some sound great, and some...well, you get the idea. When The Boynq Sabre arrived at my door, I was amazed at how stylish this little system was. Boynq, an audio company who strives for “audio supremacy," has done an excellent job over the years successfully blending style and audio clarity into one package. The Sabre is no exception.

It features two 10-watt speakers, which are controlled by 3 manual knobs (volume, bass, and treble), which may take a few times to get used to. The Sabre is very easy to set up and is ready to use right out of the box. Unfortunately, the speakers are on the side of the system, which I found caused the music to sound a little flat and distant.

The system also comes with 6 different docking inserts for different generations of iPods, stereo line-in cable for other devices and a video-out cable for connection to a television. These extra chords are a great addition and save the listener lots of trouble if they want to connect a device other than an iPod.

The Boynq Sabre is one of the most stylish iPod systems I have seen and provides a quality of sound that would appease the average listener. I would not recommend the Sabre for serious music listening, as its small size took away from some of the music’s quality. Nonetheless, The Boynq Sabre is incredibly easy to use and is a nice addition to any home office or bedroom.
