Add the andPOP Facebook Application(andPOP) - Swedish tech company Tonium Laboratories has announced the release of Pacemaker, the world's first pocket-sized DJ system. Designed to bring people "closer to their music" and allow them "to creatively interact with their whole music collection," Pacemaker is inventing itself as the first of its kind.
Armed with a massive (space, not size!) 120GB hard drive, the Pacemaker can be plugged into the nearest sound system to enable professional-like DJ'ing. In Tonium's own words: "Envision the next time you're on a bus or subway, instead of simply listening to your music you can completely interact with it, creating mixes of your favourite tunes, beat matching and using effects; the possibilities are only limited by your own imagination."
Pacemaker speaks to fans of all music genres, not just dance, electronic and house-lovers. The software will automatically work out the BPMs (beats per minute) of each track, enabling you to quickly learn to match the beats between two tracks and create a DJ mix. Pacemaker works with both PC and Mac and supports all the major audio formats. In addition, Pacemaker will also offer its users a community platform to legally share their saved DJ mixes.
