(andPOP) - Snubbing a couple thousand fans in Toronto this summer after failing to make an appearance at a hip-hop festival (as only andPOP reported), Wyclef Jean wanted to clear things up with his loyal Ontario crowd. However, the singer, made famous throughout his time with The Fugees, claims that although he is sorry, his absence was not his fault but rather his label's.

"I never say I'm going to be somewhere and I don't be there. I have one of my labels, Sak Pase Records, that is supposed to come to Toronto. Then they're going to Montreal. So whoever it was doing it for Sak Pase came to New York and it's not like he was like, 'Man, you know the Toronto thing is happening.' It was more like, you know, I kept it moving, I had to go to Japan," Chartattack quoted the artist in saying.

Jean is about to put out a new album on December 4th entitled "The Carnival II: Memoirs of an Immigrant" and will hopefully schedule some performances in Canada.

"I got so many Canadian fans and I felt so bad because I rarely play in Canada. So if people hear that 'Clef is gonna play in Canada, people come from all over freakin' Canada."
