(andPOP) - Melissa Etheridge, Alicia Keys and Earth Wind & Fire are among the diverse lineup slated for this year’s Nobel Peace Prize concert.

This year’s Nobel Peace Prize went to former U.S. vice-president Al Gore and the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change for their efforts in spreading awareness internationally about global warming.

Gore himself invited Etheridge to play at the concert. Each year’s Nobel winner is given the chance to choose one of the concert’s performers.

Etheridge’s song “I Need to Wake Up” was featured in Gore’s environmental documentary “An Inconvenient Truth,” which won an Academy Award earlier this year for best doc. Etheridge’s song won the Oscar for best original song.

The singer was also among the many musicians who participated in Gore’s Live Earth endeavour this summer.

The Nobel Peace Prize concert will also feature performances by KT Tunstall, Annie Lennox and Colombian singer Juanes.

It is scheduled to take place in Oslo, Norway on Dec. 11, a day after the award ceremony.
