Add the andPOP Facebook Application(andPOP) - British singer Amy Winehouse, the subject of close media scrutiny in recent months, is scheduled to perform at the 2007 mtvU Woodie Awards in New York next month.
Winehouse herself is up for a Woodie of the Year trophy at the awards show, which is voted on by college students in the U.S.
mtvU, MTV's 24-hour college network, had named Winehouse one of its Freshman Five in February.
The Woodie performance will be Winehouse's first gig in the States since putting her North American tour on hold in August following concerns over her health and reports of drug use.
The singer also cancelled an appearance at MTV's Video Music Awards last month. Universal Republic Records, her U.S. record label, said all U.S. appearances had been cancelled 'in a continued effort to support Amy Winehouse's well-being.'
The fourth annual Woodies will be held Nov. 8, and will air Nov. 15 on mtvU and its website.
Other nominees include fellow Briton Lily Allen, The Shins, The Academy Is…, Justice, Gym Class Heroes, Modest Mouse, Lil Wayne, Linkin Park and TV on the Radio.
Besides Winehouse, scheduled performers so far include The Academy Is… and Spank Rock.
