The Late, Great J Dilla To Be Featured on NBA 2K8 Soundtrack

(andPOP) - 2K Sports announced this week that NBA 2K8 will be featuring select tracks from the late J Dilla, who passed away in 2006, as well as Common, Q-Tip, Talib Kwelli and Madlib.

The exclusive soundtrack brings together and unites the new sound of hip hop, as well as the classic sound of old school rap. J Dilla, legendary producer and artist, was known for his unique beats and his influence on most of today's hip hop community.

"For the NBA 2K8 soundtrack, we wanted to produce something diverse that bridges modern hip-hop with its rich heritage in funk and groove," explains Tim Rosa, 2K Sports Director of Brand and Lifestyle Marketing. "In addition to showcasing some of J Dilla's finest and unreleased cuts with marquee artists like Common, Talib Kweli and Q-Tip, we've included a diverse group of artists whose music really captures the spirit of the game."
The in-game playlist was specially designed for the program and will include other arists such as Cut Chemist, Devo Fishbone and Run DMC.
