MMVAs Hours Away!

The MMVAs has a stellar lineup this year, from Avril to Maroon 5, but the person I am most excited about seeing is Emilie de Ravin, better known as Claire from Lost.

I love Lost. I hope I get to interview all the big stars at the MMVAs, but if I walk away without speaking to Emilie, the night will be considered a failure (to me at least; the rest of the andPOP people could care less if I meet her, as long as I get good footage from the rest of the talent). I've never met anyone from Lost, my favourite show, but I'll let you know if that changes tonight.

I can reveal a few things about tonight's MMVAs (it begins at 7:30 PM ET with the red carpet and it's on MuchMusic of course):
-the rooftop performance will be by Finger Eleven
-Belly, though still not known by many yet, will perform with Ginuwine and a hell of a lot of backup singers
-Fergie has a ton of dancers

I stopped by the gift lounge on Saturday to see what all the celebs will be taking home (you can watch footage of that on Monday morning). Alexisonfire were in the lounge and one of the band members stayed for over an hour... that's a long time for someone to stay in the gift lounge. I think he was playing Guitar Hero for a while.

Don't forget, after the MMVAs, everything you can want in coverage is at andPOP.

Behind the Scenes: T-Pain Interview

T-Pain was not the easiest person to interview.

I had read a few q&a's with him, where he gave very short answers, often a yes or a no. I assumed for some reason that he would be different with me, but that's often what I had to deal with. A lot of the quotes you see in the article, I got after asking the same question three times, a few different ways, trying to get something more out of him.

T-Pain is a smart dude, but sometimes during the interview, I had no idea what he meant.

I asked him about producing and writing on his own, and not asking other writers or producers for help, and this was his response.

"I don’t need help to get out. I don’t need help to do what I did. I didn’t need it to do it and im not going to do it at all."

Read that last sentence a few times.

But you cannot deny that Buy U a Drank is catchy. It's playing in my head right now.
