Okay, imagine your favourite artist. Now, think of your favourite song by the artist — and then picture yourself singing that song to the artist. Nerve wrecking right? Not for some contestants on The Voice.
In the reality shows’ famous blind auditions process contestants perform the song of their choice for a panel of celebrity judges who can opt to turn around and fight for them. Sometimes, they sing one of the judges’ songs — this can go two ways. The judges know how their songs are supposed to sound and aren’t always as flattered as you may think — but sometimes, the contestant makes the song completely their own and tears the house down.
